How it all began... As a young adult working in the D.C. Metropolitan region, I quickly came to realize the increasing demands and stressors of working parents who desire quality child care for their children. The options are limited as parents are usually faced with the decision of 1) group child care, most of which have long wait lists, high fees, and lack of quality in providers and the care that child receives, or 2) hiring a nanny, that may or may not be educated in early childhood development, and limits socialization and group interaction that takes place in the early years of learning. As a former teacher in a center-based group care setting, I have to love more and more the small group, homelike care to benefit young infants in their development.
